Flight Training

Maine Coastal Flight offers professional flight training right from the Bar Harbor Airport. Our experienced, certified flight instructors provide personalized instruction for pilots at every level. We have a Cessna 150 and Cessna 172’s  aircrafts in our fleet.

Ground School

We offer an 8-week ground school course held Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:00–8:45 PM. The curriculum covers aviation fundamentals, aerodynamics, navigation, weather, and FAA rules and regulations—everything you need to pass the FAA knowledge exam for the sport Pilot or Private Pilot certificate. “You’re the Pilot” – Discover Flying Experience

Take an introductory flight lesson with a professional flight instructor and experience the thrill of flying firsthand. You’ll take the controls of a single-engine aircraft and fly through the skies over beautiful Downeast Maine. Introductory flights are also a great gift idea—gift certificates are available. Introductory flights start at $249.

Aircraft Maintenance

Maine Coastal Flight offers aircraft maintenance at our facility at the Hancock County–Bar Harbor Airport. We can maintain most General Aviation aircraft, from single-engine piston to medium twins. Services include annual inspections, oil changes, repairs, engine changes and avionics.

Aircraft Management & Pilot Services

Maine Coastal Flight provides a variety of aircraft management services and pilot services for the Socata TBM 850, TBM 930, Piper M600, Diamond DA42, Diamond DA62 and most General Aviation airplanes. We work with both pilot owners and non-pilot owners providing pilot services and safety pilot solutions.

Pilot Services Rates

  • Cirrus and other single-engine aircraft: Half day (4 hours or less) $450 | Full day (4–8 hours) $800
  • TBM: Full day $1,000
  • Piper M600 and other M Series: Half day $500 | Full day $900

Aircraft Services

We offer a wide variety of services providing you with the peace of mind that your plane is always being properly cared for. We arrange and handle all service and maintenance, keep all required records current and up to date, update electronic databases on a regular schedule, and clean and polish the aircraft as desired. Maine Coastal Flight also has a group of highly qualified instructor pilots that can provide pilot services as needed.

Getting to see Acadia from the sky was such a treat! They have their system down: very smooth booking service through their website, parking right by the main road, easy and fast check-in upon arrival, get on the plane a few minutes later, and off you go. Staff was very pleasant through phone and in-person interactions, helpful with my guest limited mobility… And of course, the flight was great with amazing views of the park and surroundings; the weather wasn’t too shabby either… A 5-star operation all around, definitely recommend joining for a tour if you are fortunate enough to be able to afford it.

We took the Schoodic Point Flight on a beautiful clear morning. Our Pilot was very thorough in prepping us for the flight. The headsets made for a very convenient way of communicating and needing to talk over the plane’s engine. The pilot was very engaging and pointed out points of interest. We were satisfied with our choice of the shorter flight, having been to the area several times and having some familiarity with the topography. If you are a first time, you may want to opt for the All-Acadia flight. Either way, I’m pretty sure, it will be one of the most scenic flight experiences you will ever take.

Fabulous experience in a 5-passenger seat plane. Awesome views of Mount Desert Island. Our pilot was the best! Highly recommend him and the organization.
