Open Cockpit Biplane Rides

Experience the magic of flying in an open cockpit biplane! Our 1930s-era Waco YMF-5C biplanes seat up to two passengers side by side in the front cockpit while you take in the breathtaking beauty of Acadia National Park, the rugged rock-bound shores of Mount Desert Island, Frenchman’s Bay, Somes Sound, area lighthouses, Bar Harbor, and much more. The aircraft is equipped with an intercom system so you can communicate with your companion and the pilot throughout the flight.

About the Waco YMF-5C Biplane

The Waco (rhymes with “taco”) biplane has a storied history in American aviation. The original Waco YMF first rolled out of the factory in Troy, Ohio in 1935. In 1983, Classic Aircraft Corporation brought the design back to life, hiring experienced aeronautical engineers to redraw over 1,400 drawings while maintaining the integrity of the original design. The Waco YMF is not a rebuild or a kit plane—it is a brand new, FAA-certified production aircraft.
